Full description
The fantastic afternoon tea experience takes place at a cosy ground floor bar at Cannonball House. You can either choose to have it just for one person or sharing for two guests.

Cannonball Restaurant and Bar at Cannonball House is ideally located at the very top of the Royal Mile overlooking Edinburgh Castle. The name Cannonball House comes from the gunshot lodged high on the wall facing Edinburgh Castle. It is rumored to have been fired by government troops towards Holyrood Palace when Bonnie Prince Charlie was in residence in 1745. However, it’s more likely the cannonball was placed there by engineers to mark the gravitational height for the first piped water supply to Castlehill Reservoir across the road. Either way, it’s a little piece of history and well worth a look when you leave. The one surviving feature of the original building is the door with the oldest knocker in the world that adorns the entrance.
  • Findlay’s haggis balls with pickled spiced turnip and Katy Roger’s mustard crème fraîche
  • 25ml glass of Dram of Glengoyne 10years
  • Direct trade tea with Graham’s dairy milk and Victor’s honey
  • Homemade Scottish shortbread and tablet
