Full description
Discover the myths and legends surrounding the Holy Grail and Rosslyn Chapel on this small-group tour! You'll also visit the beautiful Borders village of Melrose with its historic abbey.

Departing at 9:45 AM, your tour takes you south to the world-famous Scott’s View, with stunning views over the Tweed Valley and the Eildon Hills. You will also get the opportunity to visit the original Wallace Monument.

From here you travel to Melrose, including the chance to explore its great Border Abbey, founded by the Cistercians in the 12th Century. The Cistercian monks had very close connections with the Knights Templar and Melrose Abbey is the burial place of Robert the Bruce's heart, brought back from the crusades in Moorish Spain.

Following lunch in Melrose, you will make your way to the stunning 15th-century Rosslyn Chapel, immortalized in Dan Brown’s “Da Vinci Code”. Here, you can find out more about the myths and legends surrounding the whereabouts of the “Holy Grail”.

Nice day out

Nice small group tour to The Tweed Valley, Melrose Abbey and Rosslyn chapel. Plenty of time to stroll around all sites, plus our guide showed us a few extras such as the fairy tree, and couple of statues along the route. The guide was knowledgeable and tried to give the tour a personal touch - some of his stories were a little inappropriate imo (bit too much sharing) but all in all it was an enjoyable day. Down side was that photos are not allowed inside Rosslyn chapel.

Great way to spend a day

A great day trip with a small group of people to the Borders and Rosslyn Chapel. Relaxed and unhurried and ventured out without a stick, which was a problem (for me) visiting the Wallace statue. One of the excellent and very knowledgeable drivers offered to take my camera and take a few shots. Excellent work, thank you so much. For me the highlight of the tour was Rosslyn Chapel, where it was surprisingly quiet enough to have a chance for some very up-close viewing. During the entire trip the scenery was unbelievably beautiful, supplemented where necessary by the at times encyclopaedic commentary of the drivers.

Steven was our driver and he was great. He told us delightful stories. Great tour of countryside including a stop in Melrose where we ate at the Ship Inn with a cozy atmosphere on a rainy day and chance to chat with couple with well-behaved dogs. Visit to chapel was as good as expected. This tour will remain at the top of our list of tours to take our of Edinburgh.
