Full description
Depart from Dubrovnik and set off for Mostar situated on the Neretva River. Admire 2 parts of the city connected by the Old Bridge that was built by the Ottomans in the 16th-century and is considered one of the most famous pieces of Islamic architecture in the Balkans. Discover how, in fact, Mostar itself got its name after the bridge keepers (mostari) who guarded the Old Bridge in the medieval ages. The Old Bridge stood for 427 years until it was destroyed in 1993 during the Yugoslav Wars. It was reconstructed by the year 2004 using the same stones.

Next, stop at one of the greatest natural landmarks in the area, the Kravica Waterfall, located only 40 km from Mostar. This waterfalls has a high discharge in winter and spring, and at low discharge during the rest of the year, making it a great picnic and camping area.

Finally, travel southwest of Mostar to Europe's third most important apparition site, where each year more than 1 million people visit, the Međugorje Sanctuary. Learn about how Međugorje literally means "between mountains". After reports of apparitions of The Virgin Mary to 6 local children, Međugorje became a popular Catholic pilgrimage site. People are very proud of their sanctuary, and community. At the end of the tour, return to Dubrovnik where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
