Full description
Set off on board a luxury, air-conditioned motor-coach and watch Dublin's urban cityscape give way to the rolling, green hills of the Irish countryside. This full-day trip will drive through several areas of interest, including the Galtee Mountains and the Curragh in County Kildare, which is home to Ireland's National Stud Farm.

First, arrive at Blarney Castle which is known around the world for its famous Blarney Stone. Kiss the stone and receive the “gift of the gab." Be sure to explore the rest of Blarney Castle as well as its lush grounds and woodland walks. Discover the scenic Rock Close by taking the Wishing Steps.

Then, travel to Ireland's "Rebel City" of Cork. Enjoy some time exploring the city with a local guide who will escort you on a walking tour. Learn about the history of the city and visit some local points of interest. If you have time, make sure to visit The English Market which has plenty of local food to choose from.

Depart Cork and arrive at one of Ireland’s 7 Wonders, the Rock of Cashel in County Tipperary. Explore the Hall of Vicars, Cormack’s Chapel, the Celtic Cathedral, the Round Tower, and the surrounding grounds filled with ancient high crosses. In addition, admire one of Ireland’s oldest Romanesque wall paintings inside this world-famous historical landmark. Afterwards, be returned to Dublin city center to complete your tour.

I really enjoyed the day but felt very uncomfortable and angry when returning to Dublin when the guide made a soapbox speech about the future unity of Ireland. I booked a trip to Blarney Castle and not a political experience. I am Welsh living in England, apparently the great oppressor. The guide wasn’t sure how Eire would pay for the unity.

Great trip!

Owen (eion) was a fantastic tour guide and with many funny antidotes that made the trip even more fun. The locations were beautiful and the time spent in each location was plenty ample. You will want to take this tour if you love medieval castles and enjoy a bit of history!

Blarney and Cahir Castles: Full-Day Tour from Dublin

An excellent experience! Both adults and children really enjoyed it and Connor, our driver & guide besides being a great character was also very helpful and informative throughout the trip. I would recommend this trip to anyone, regardless of the time of the year or weather conditions. Especially Blarney Castle could well be a single, day long destination, especially for those with children. So much to see and do there... We would definitely like to do it again.
