Awesome....great guide with a fantastic flair for storytelling

This tour was really quite something....it combined both history and the best of Irish culture....we visited 13th century Dublin Castle which was spectacular. Our guide Phil told us all the incredible stories associated with the Castle its importance in Irish history and th events that led to Queen Victoria falling out with the Castle postmaster over a particular incident. We also found out that Bram Stoker the author of Dracula worked here for over 10 years while writing his famous novel. We then visited the oldest pub in Ireland where we shared a pint and heard incredible stories of its nearly 900 years of history. Our group were so well looked after by Phil...he was such a storyteller full of Irish charm and wit. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Dublin.

The bus tour became 'A legendary one man show!'

Our first driver did not use the recorded guide. He did it live! He did it with style! He did it with PASSION! He made the journey through the streets of Dublin secondary to his amazing, interesting and factual repartee. His amusing asides were second to none...e.g., a fire tender was coming up behind, siren sounding. 'Oh no, there is a fire tender coming up behind' he said, 'This is bad. I think the might have spotted me...My first wife ran off wife a fireman...Well, I'm not stopping. They might want to give her back!'...BRILLIANT!! Alas for us, he came to the end of his shift and the next driver was just that...a driver. Sure he was safe. He was courteous. But he was just...well 'workman like'

Efficient and informative way to navigate and see the sights.

We had a long layover in Dublin and used the Hop On-Hop Off to get an overview of the sights. The bus stops were easy to find, and buses generally stopped every 20 minutes or so. In only one case was seating an issue, and we chose to wait for the next bus which appeared within 5 minutes. Guides/Drivers were personable and humorous. We booked the 3-day ticket online ahead of time. We were not aware of the 1 or 2 day options, which may have been better for our situation.

Extremely well prepared guide. Wonderful speaker,

The tour was listed as 2 hours staring at 11:00am. We started late. The guide said it was 2.5 hours. We had another tour at Glasnevin at 2:30. We thought we would have 1.5 hours to get there. The guide went over his time but he was great! We missed his last part about the famine and took a taxi to Glasnevin, had a quick bite at the cafe there. We were sorry to miss the end of his tour. Create more space between tours.

A great introduction to Dublin before we explored the city

Our driver for the first part of our trip was Andrew. We was funny, informative, helpful and entertaining. The final leg of the tour was done when it was dark and the town was glowing with Christmas lights. Very pretty to see, but for sightseeing the earlier you start the day the better.
