Full description
Enjoy a full-day trip to Litchfield National Park from Darwin. See lush monsoon forests, termite mounds, unusual rock formations, waterfalls, and cascades.

The park includes much of the spectacular Tabletop Range, a wide sandstone plateau surrounded by cliffs. During the green season 4 major waterfalls thunder down from the cliffs to tropical rock pools below. During the dry season, the waterfalls flow more gently, making the waterholes perfect spots for a refreshing swim.

You’ll follow the Stuart Highway via the town of Batchelor to reach Litchfield National Park. Visit the park’s main waterfalls, stopping first at Florence Falls, where you’ll enjoy a scenic and interpretive bush and monsoon vine forest walk. You can also go for a swim by making your way down the stairs to the plunge pool below.

Continue on to Tolmer Falls and see water cascading down into a deep waterhole at the base of the falls. Visit Wangi Falls, which features a large, crystal-clear pool that’s a perfect spot for a cool dip.

You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the park’s natural wonders.

Had a great day made even better by our guide Malcolm who was very knowledgeable and informative. Booked it very late the night before and found the whole process very easy and nothing was too much trouble, even when my wife left something on the bus Malcolm returned it to our hotel after he finished work. Would highly recommend to anyone.

A pleasant day that will remain in my memories.

The day was very well organized: quite a few buses and 4 stops. However: the stops are too short, we don't have time to take advantage of them (no time to walk because we had to swim and walk in 1 hour top). In addition, the average age is very high which is not suited to my expectations: busy day with market to discover the landscape and not bus day

Great destination, disappointing guide

Litchfield has a lot to offer. Proximity to Darwin. Stunning scenery. Well maintained walking tracks. Great waterholes, crocodile free for much of the dry season. Regrettably our guide although an experienced bus driver gave poor commentary, set ambiguous return to bus instructions. We felt he muddled his way though the day.
