What people are saying about Cusco

Very good tour, guide spoke excellent English.

A representative of the tour group, Joseph, met us at the train station, as we were starting our tour not long after the train arrived. I'm not sure what magic happened behind the scenes, but a staff member from our hotel (Inkaterra Machu Picchu) and the the tour group representative coordinated themselves and met us together. Joseph led us through the small town and waited until the bus arrived. We had purchased our bus tickets to go up the mountain in Cusco. It ended up being a nice small group (our family of 4 adults and a solo traveller,) but this is likely because we were travelling at the end of April which isn't the high season. Our tour guide Katti met us at the entrance. She was friendly and knowledgeable. We learned much about the history and buildings, and her English was excellent. She took us through the site at just the right pace, not too fast or slow, and there was just the right amount of information. We really enjoyed the tour.

Good Food, Good Guide and a Stunning Walk to the Mountains

Breakfast and Lunch included, the latter being essential after a gruelling walk in high altitude conditions. Picked up from our hotel on a good old Sprinter, constant humorous feedback from our guide in Spanish and English. We travelled 90 minutes from Cusco for a carb loaded breakfast and then a further 60 minutes to base camp. Surrounded by other minibuses in bright, snowy conditions we began the nicely inclined walk to the summit with not quite the right clothing. This is a high altitude climb, 4200m to 5200m and it gets cold when the sun isnt out. Be prepared to layer up AND down as you walk. We gave up on the last 750m (and the summit) due to tired legs (huayna picchu and Machu mountain 2 days prior). Returned for an excellent lunch and then dropped off at our hotel. Amazing viewing, amazing mountains.. and 40 sol for a horseride to the top.

An absolutely out of this world, amazing experience!!!

Thank you so much for such an amazing adventure. From start to finish, going over and above expectations to provide a service equal to none. The adventure itself exceeded all expectations. The first day of trekking with amazing views and historical sites was amazing. It was made even more ‘real’ with the wealth of historical knowledge and passion for his culture, that our guide Carlos shared in such an interesting and an engaging way. The second day visiting Machu Picchu was also amazing and once again the insights that Carlos shared, made the experience perfect. It was great to know that the company has an environmental focus and also gives back to local community through sustainable initiatives, with an education focus. I can not recommend this company highly enough and would without hesitation use them in the future.

Knowledgeable, friendly guide Charlie made Inca trail yet more amazing

We went on that 2 day trip with my 11 yo son. It was a great experience for us. The trail connects ancient Inca's cities at the top of the mountains, and is only possible to hike with the local guide. Hiking just a small part (12 km out of total 82 km) on the trail already gives a feeling of the educational-spiritual journey that the Inca nobility did here. Our wonderful, knowledgeable guide Charlie told us a lot about plants, animals, history and spirit of the people who built the trail and its cities. The view from Sun Gate on the trail onto Machy Pichhu is stunning. Thank you Charlie!

Very magical experience and well organised

This tour is definitely worthwhile and good value for money. The guy that spoke English really well and the breakfast and lunch provided was very good . There were options to either walk the whole 2 to 3 km to the view of the mountain or take a horse for a fee of about US$30. It is a tough walk due to the altitude but take your time and taking all of the surroundings along the way . Was enough time to take it all In and get back to the room still in daylight . Can highly recommend .
