What people are saying about Cusco

Very good tour, guide spoke excellent English.

A representative of the tour group, Joseph, met us at the train station, as we were starting our tour not long after the train arrived. I'm not sure what magic happened behind the scenes, but a staff member from our hotel (Inkaterra Machu Picchu) and the the tour group representative coordinated themselves and met us together. Joseph led us through the small town and waited until the bus arrived. We had purchased our bus tickets to go up the mountain in Cusco. It ended up being a nice small group (our family of 4 adults and a solo traveller,) but this is likely because we were travelling at the end of April which isn't the high season. Our tour guide Katti met us at the entrance. She was friendly and knowledgeable. We learned much about the history and buildings, and her English was excellent. She took us through the site at just the right pace, not too fast or slow, and there was just the right amount of information. We really enjoyed the tour.

Excellent! Recommended to all my friends

At first I was a little iffy about getting this because I had a meeting schedule at 6 and I wasnt sure if we would get back on time but we did. We were back in Cusco by 5:00 pm. Everything was very well organized. They were very punctual at picking me up and we were the first group in the Lagoon. The food that was included was good. Our tour guide Freddy was amazing, he was very patient and funny. Going up the lagoon I would definitely recommend getting a horse it goes from 70-80 soles. It would only take you up the mountain because the incline is so high its dangerous to go down in a horse. Walking down the mountain will take you about an hour but it doesnt feel like it. Just be very careful because it does get slippery. Mornings are really really cold but once the sun comes out you will start to take layers off. The lagoon is magical. Totally worth it. If i wouldnt have come, i would definitely be upset and regretting it.

Absolutely worth the hike. Stunning view. A must-see!

It took us about 90-100 minutes from Auges Calientes to the entrance gates of Machu Picchu. We were there around 8:30-8:45. It did not takes us long to get in. After that we went straight up to Machu Picchu Mountain. This hike took us about two hours up and one hour down. You should be there early, because the Mountain closes quite early. So in order to spend some time on the mountain, enjoying the landscape, the views and taking some nice shots, you should be up there around 11 am. At the latest. The clouds move rapidly. Do not become desperate if Machu Picchu is covered in clouds for the first 30 minutes. Just be patient and wait. Enjoy the wind, the height and the view. It is absolutely worth it.

Stunning. The lake is absolutely stunning and well worth the trek.

I really enjoyed this trip, although the trek was slightly strenuous on the way up it was easily doable and we were all heavily rewarded with the stunning views of the lake and the glacier. The breakfast and lunch provided were of reasonable quality considering the cost of the trip. Only downside of the trip is that the description states you can swim in the lake (optional) but unfortunately this is actually forbidden, so I was slightly disappointed I wasn’t able to go for a refreshing paddle. All in all, a great experience.

Fantastic way to get to know Macchu Picchu surroundings.

Fantastic way to get to know Macchu Picchu surroundings. Our guide was very helpfull and the quality of the stay was nicer than we expected it to be. Food was traditional peruvian cuisine and great everywhere. We only had a small trouble with the train on the way back o Ollantaytambo but that was Peru Rail mistake, not the company.
