Day 1: Cusco, Mollepata, Marcocasa

Start your tour by visiting the important Inca site Tarawasi, a 2-hour drive from Cusco. Carry on to Mollepata, the starting point of your trek. Following a different path than most groups, see a variety of native plants and birds and enjoy the marvelous view of the valley. From your campsite will be in Marcocasa, admire the amazing view of the snow-capped peak Rayuska.

Day 2: Marcocasa, Salkantaypampa

Head to Soraypampa to join the main Salkantay trekking route. From Soraypampa walk another hour to Salkantaypampa (4100 meters altitude), the campsite for the night. It may get cold at night there, so wear a hat and gloves to warm yourself up!

Day 3: Salkantaypampa, Pampakawana

Leave the main trek to head towards the Inca Trail. Walk uphill to reach the highest point of the trek and reach the small community Pampacawana, where you will camp for the night.

Day 4: Pampakawana, Llulluchapampa

Setting off from Pampacawana, make your way down the valley to join the Inca Trail at Wayllabamba. Pass your first Inca site, Paucarcancha. At Wayllabamba, leave your mules behind in order to protect the Inca Trail from damages.
Llulluchapampa (3800 meters) is the closest campsite to the Dead Woman’s Pass. Climbing up to Llulluchapampa, pass through various biozones including the low sierra, a cloud forest, and the high puna. See a variety of plants and birds, and even a white-tailed deer.

Day 5: Llulluchapampa, Chaquicocha

Make your way over 2 passes. See the high mountain range as you cross the passes and visit 2 Inca sites, Runcuraccay and Sayacmarca. Camp at Chaquicocha (3600 meters), and enjoy the sunset over the mountains in the distance.

Day 6: Chaquicocha, Winaywayna

On this relaxing day, enjoy some of the most beautiful sceneries the Inca Trail has to offer. Cover a short distance along the Inca Flat. Visit 2 Inca sites, Phuyupatamarca and Winay Wayna, by far one of the most impressive days of the entire trek. Camp at Winay Wayna (2680 meters), and enjoy a guided tour after you have settled in.

Day 7: Winaywayna, Machu Picchu

After waking up early, head straight to the checkpoint to enter Machu Picchu. Carry on to the Sun Gate for your very first fantastic view of Machu Picchu.
