Planning Your Cozumel Visit

When to go

Weather-wise, the best time to visit Cozumel is between the late autumn and early spring, when temperatures remain warm and dry. That said, this is also the peak season, so the island is at its most crowded. If you'd rather avoid the rush but still want to enjoy good weather, your best bet is late spring, before the start of the rainy season in June.

Ride scooters responsibly

Scooters are a fun and highly popular way to get around the island. There are many rental places, with rates around $20-30 per day. However, make sure to exercise care as crashes are very frequent amongst tourists. Wearing a helmet is not only a good idea, but legally mandatory (police are on the look-out for riders without helmets and the fine is $25).

What people are saying about Cozumel

Excellent service! Amazing snorkeling in Cozumel

All worked out perfect- we didn’t want to have to figure out taxi and ferry and all to get to Cozumel to snorkel so this was the perfect package. Our guide was excellent making sure we knew what to expect and every step of the way. Snorkeling was right off the shore in 3 separate spots that we for sure wouldn’t figure out for ourselves so going by boat with a guide is the way to go. We saw so much! Only wish we could have spent longer out snorkeling. Lunch was good- for sure a place we would go back.

Great experience for those up to the adventure

I was hoping for something exciting, and I was not disappointed. The guides were very helpful and stressed safety at all times.

Great trip to get to know the whole island in one day

We were a group of 4 and arrived a bit earlier than the agreed time so we were happy that our guide (Angel) was already waiting for us. After a short explanation and instruction, he gave us the keys. He said that we could stop whenever we liked to take pictures. His suggested stops were very interessting (e.g. we saw turtle nests, a crocodile and we climbed a lighthouse). The Tequila tasting was fun and it was fine that we didn't buy a bottle. The highlight was the swimming and snorkeling at the end of the tour. The food was very good and free of charge (except the drinks). That was fine because we had a lot of cool drinks in the Jeep with a wide range. Thank you for that great impression of Cozumel! We felt secure the whole time and enjoyed this day so much. We would highly recommend it :)!

Very much enjoyed the facilities. Lots for everyone to do.

The procedure of getting your tickets is poorly explained. The idea of emailing the tickets is fine- then you ask for me to print them. I don't carry a portable printer with me. Poorly explained about where to go for the Ferry. Instructions gave me one address that was wrong- the taxi driver took me to the correct place-near the pier. Same for getting tickets for Playa Mia - poor explanations on where I needed to go to get the actual tickets- especially since it included a ride to and from the park. All the people we met were very helpful and went out of their way to point us in the right direction. They were great. Once we got to deal with people- all worked fine. Management needs to get the website so it communicated more clearly.

Cozumel: Playa Mia Grand Beach Park Reviewed by Edward, 08/16/2017

My family enjoyed Playa Mia Grand Beach and Water Park.

We bought the outing with transfers and we could not have been more pleased. The park was clean, well staffed and not over crowded. The staff was courteous and helpful! We will go again.
