What people are saying about Chester
The commentary was extremely informative and helped us plan our sightseeing programme
Both the driver and guide were courteous and helpful. Our American friends were blown away, they don't have a bus tour. The quickest and easiest way for them to cover a good distance in the dry, it rained incessantly that day.
The tour guide was very informative, however, the tour felt a little rushed and there was no time to ask questions as there was a lot of information given and it felt a little rote learnt. I have been on other tours around the world that have been more individualised to the passengers. It would be great if the guides asked where the visitors were from and tailored it to whether they had any local knowledge or if it was the first time in the city. Overall, a good tour but not one of the best I have been on.
We both enjoyed the tour, however can I make a suggestion, I booked the trip in my hotel the previous night and received an e-mail confirming my booking. I mistakenly thought I could show the e-mail on my phone when boarding the bus as confirmation I had purchased tickets ( I did not have a print facility). However the driver said he could not accept the phone confirmation and I had to show a paper copy. So I had to return to my hotel and ask them if I could use their printer fortunately they printed it for me. If I'd known this beforehand I wouldn't have bought tickets online, so for me a disappointing start to my tour. I'm 65, I use the internet, tablets, and mobile phones, this is the paperless age........isn't it?
The bus tour and boat trip made a very helpful framework to our day out in Chester. The bus drivers were helpful and friendly as were the boat crew on the Lady Diana. Chester is ideal for this efficient service. Would definitely recommend.
