What people are saying about Chania

One of the best wine tours I've ever done - a MUST DO!

I cannot rate this tour highly enough! It is an absolute must-do if you wish to see, taste and enjoy real Cretan wine and olive oil! My friend and I were picked up from our hotel by the amazing Dimitris, who I think is once of the nicest, most knowledgable and enthusiastic drivers/guides I've had the pleasure of touring with. Our group only totalled six people, so we were never rushed or crowded throughout the day. Smaller groups also mean you get your own space at each winery and the oil mill, which makes it a very personalised experience. I highly recommend taking this tour if you want a more private style of tour. In between our visits to the organic olive oil mill (called Biolea), Karavitakis Winery and Manousakis Winery we were entertained and educated by Dimitris who was happy to tell us all about Cretan history and olive oil, the various highlights in almost every town we passed, whilst taking the time to point out interesting natural features in the landscape or native wi

Loved the tour, except the lunch stop at Lake Kournas.

Overall we loved the tour. The communication leading up to the trip was great - we were notified of the changes to the pick up time and location. The pick up was very prompt, and we were greeted by our excellent guide Alexander. The bus journey took us to see some breathtaking sights, and the tour guide told us about the history of different places on the way. The only negative (in our opinion) was the planned lunch stop at Lake Kournas, which took away from time at Chania and Rethymno. Unfortunately we were especially disappointed with the restaurant at Kournas, where we were treated like an inconvenience by the lady who served us. We felt that the stopping time at Kournas took away from valuable time at the final stop Rethymno which is a true gem of a town! Would have loved to have our late lunch/dinner there instead, and a much longer stroll to browse the local old town streets! But overall - great day exploring Crete, recommend!

Excellent experience, knowledgeable and friendly guides!

This experience was packed full of interesting activities and adventures! Our guide, Kostas, was very friendly and seemed very passionate about the job. We first went to a lake and a monastery where we learned about early food production, and had an amazing breakfast of Raki, bread and olive oil and rusks with honey. We then started to go up into the mountains which was an amazing experience. The food at the taverna at lunch was delicious and it was great to have some time to be on the beach. We visited many different paces and learnt so much about the fascinating ancient history of crete. Thank you so much for a brilliant day!

Knossos Palace & the Museum at Heraklion Very Interesting

The Palace and Museum were worth the visit, Heraklion itself is full of shops and restaurants, I am sure it has many other places of interest but after visiting the museum and getting something to eat we had no time to explore it further. It’s a long day out, half of it is spent travelling on a coach there and back with a stop for a drink and snacks each way although we weren’t very impressed with the choice of cafe or the coffee. In hindsight we would have hired a car but understand why some people prefer to travel by coach/do a tour.

Finally, off to narrow gravel roads in the mountains

No longer able to do trekking, off road with jeep safaris is the alternative. Filipe, our very skilled driver, took us safely up narrow winding gravel roads high into the white mountains. We had an excellent trip and gained knowledge about daily life in Crete during this trip. A small refreshment at an ochard and a lunch at the sheep herder's family restaurent completed the trip nicely. A thank you to all involved for making this trip possible
