What people are saying about Chamarel
A lot of time travelling in the mini bus to get to the points of interest,we were stopping at.More time is spent in vehicle than at the sights. This tour is not good for you if you get car travel sick!Roads VERY bendy in places, and bumpy. You see an awful lot of sugar cane as the island is covered by it!!!!The small print states that due to weather conditions the tour can change,or even stop due to the rain....which happened to us,as it began raining.IT RAINS A LOT IN MAURITIUS,SO BE PREPARED.We could not stop to view the highest peak as low cloud and rain like you've never seen before, but that was okay as it was only a mountain peak! Its not suitable for children.Be ready for 10 shots of strong rum at the factory......Bring plenty of water/drinks with you.Turned up at hotel on time, really efficient with correspondences before trip.Felt confident with the company it would be a good tour.Really pleased.Natalie was a BRILLIANT tour guide, knew everything.
The pick up was in time and 2 days before the locale guide came to our hotel and talked with us about our tour. That was very nice, cause we didn't know if all would went rigt with the hotel pick up. We picked up 4 other persond and then we drove over the island to see all the locations. The Hindu temple was very nice and interesting and our guide explaned everything. The rum tasting was super, evereything went good. The rum was delicious and we where allowe to taste all tastes. The food in a local restaurant was o.k.. Not good, but ok. Small dishes, so your belly get not full. But the view from the restaurant was amazing. The other locations we went where all beautiful to watch. No problems with the return to the hotel. All in all a wonderful trip. - thank you
Our guide was full of love for his home country Mauritius and was genuinely pleased to share his pride and delight with us. We toured the south west of the island and saw many memorable things. We expected the National Parl are tone beautiful but did not realise that such care had been put into prime sites to make them so welcoming to visitors. Thank you Mauritius and our splendid host for such a great day.
Long time spent in mini bus, but regular stops at points of interest to break up the journey. Liked the lunch but beware of the chile sauce on the table.... Hot, Hot, Hot. Trip advertised as 10 hours, but only lasted 8.5 but everything advertised was seen. Collection from hotel was right on time. Would recommend this trip.
Fantastic viewpoints and great tour around the nature of the south, which is incredible!! Rum tasting was okay, but better on the Bois Cheri tour. The ship model factory was more of a (overpriced) shopping stop than any insight in the craft.
