What people are saying about Cefalù
The trip to Monreale and Cefalù was a pleasant day to get out of Palermo city The cathedral at Monreale is magnificent and for those with an extensive knowledge of bible stories would need to spend hours viewing the multitude of mosaics. Dont miss it.
My family and I found the tour interesting and fun. We didn't know before the tour that a look in the city nearby and tasting of different traditional food, was included. That was a nice surprise! The wine tasting was also a nice experience. We tasted four types of wine and got a interesting tour around in the wine yard and cellar. The only thing I missed was more information about how to recognize the smell, describe the taste and how to find our the alcohol level and sugar level my looking at the wine glass. I felt that I had a good time, and enjoyed the wine, but I didn't felt that I become a "wine expert"/connoisseur :-) maybe that was to much to ask for.
Monreale and Cefalu was the best part of our stay at Palermo,Michael was friendly and helpfull and very knowledgeable. He gave us lots of historical information about Monreale and Cefalu with plenty time to enjoy both places, some reviews say that this tour is only like a taxi to take you there, but our opinion is that gives you the freedom to walk on your own, with all the information and direction from friendly Michael. We had a great day! this is one of the best of a half day tours ,we can't say the same about another tours in palermo. Thank you very much Michael!!!!
First you go up the mountain with its winding roads but great views, next stop is a small town where all the older gentlemen wait for the tour bus it's their excitement of the week! The town is quaint its great views of the sea, and a beautiful church. Then dinner, and that's when the party begins, great food, great wine, singing and music and getting to know your fellow tour folks. Just a great night all over, and Elizabeth was just great too.
Coach journey through the mountains to Corleone took about 1 1/2 hours. Ester was our guide. She is very friendly and helpful. Met up with another guide to take us around the museum and town in Corleone and she explained the history and background in great detail. It was very interesting and well worth the money. We only had 20 minutes to buy gifts or have a drink but we could have done with an hour so as not to rush.
