What people are saying about Campania

An easy alternative to Pompeii. Get the picture without the crowds.

Chose Herculaneum on advise as my partner has mobility and breathing difficulties. Bought Fast track tickets to avoid queues at entrance.... but not required when we got there about noon. Easy to reach from Sorrento by public train €5.80 return followed by a short downhill walk to the site. Entrance through pleasant visitors centre with toilets. Gentle downhill path provides good views and photo opps. The actual excavations are fairly compact and hired audio guides seemed very popular (€8 each/€13 for 2). Clearly not an easy walk for anyone with more than very minor mobility issues but it's not a seafront promenade. Whilst not the scale or variety of its big brother, Pompeii, no crowds. Refreshments are available by auto vending machines along with more toilets close to excavations. Overall well worth the visit to get the experience... nice views across to Vesuvius... which makes you think... what if?? We got a taxi back up the hill to station €10, overpriced... yes, but essential...

WONDERFUL EVENING. CAME AS FRIENDS - LEFT AS FAMILY

A WONDERFUL AND EDUCATIONAL EVENING. LEARNED CHEF TONY'S FAMILY SECRETS TO MAKING SUPERB JUICY MEAT BALLS, DELICIOUS PERFECT PASTA, INCREDIBLE BUT SIMPLE TOMATO SAUCE AND UNBELIEVABLE TIRAMISU. THE ATMOSPHERE WAS LIGHT AND FUN AND BY THE END OF THE NIGHT ALL OF OUR SMALL GROUP (FROM CANADA, FLORIDA, PITTSBURGH AND AUSTRALIA ) SHARED A SPECIAL KIND OF BOND THAT ONLY FOOD AND COOKING CAN CREATE. OUR TALENTED AND CONGENIAL CHEF, TONY AIELLO, GUIDED US THROUGH EVERY STEP AS WE PREPARED OUR TRADITIONAL ITALIAN DINNER. ALSO, CHEF TONY'S STAFF WAS SO VERY ENTHUSIASTIC AND HELPFUL TOO WHICH REALLY ADDED TO THE EVENING. ALONG THE WAY WE WERE TREATED TO PROSECCO, RED WINE, WHITE WINE, ASSORTED CHEESES AND SALUMI. BEST PART WAS WHEN WE GOT TO EAT OUR DELICIOUS MEAL - AND I GOT SECONDS! THANK YOU TONY AND THE GUYS FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL EVENING.

This will be the highlight of your whole trip!

I had looked at tons of different boat tours for Capri and stumbled upon this one through a blog and I could not have been happier with my choice. My best friend and I had THE best experience boating around Capri. Our tour guide Alessandro taught us amazing things about the island and took us to unique spots around the island. We really wanted to swim in the water and were dropped of at a mini grotto that we could swim through which was something we won't forget. If you are looking for a fun, relaxed tour around Capri I highly highly recommend this tour.

Not necessary to book Fast Track Entrance

I went there in July, and I booked Fast Track Entrance because I thought it might be long lines. But it was not, so it is not necessary to book ahead. An audioguide was included in the price, but I did not use it much, because the audioguide's information at each place was too detailed. It would have been better if I had bought a book or got an informative map before I went there.

the place is amazing, the audio guide is average

The place is incredible, so much history ... a must do activity. The audio guide is average. Too many locations were not available, despite the number been displayed. Others were closed, which my understanding is because of security or lack of personnel. Either way, at least listening to part of the history and learning from the place was worth it
