What people are saying about Cairo

Highly recommended! I have found the “Camel Ride and Quad Biking combo tour around the pyramids” on here. But i also customized it to give me some time to go inside the big pyramid, the operator was very helpful to accommodate my request. My tour guide “Omar Mataro” has been very helpful and knowledgeable, he advised me what’s the best way to structure my tour, starting with the pyramid, then the camel ride, then the quad bikes. He picked me up on time at 7:00am, and drove me to Giza, we arrived at 8:00am, i went inside Khofo pyramid, i was the only one there - because its early. Then we went to the camels, and they put me on a camel and took me to the panoramic view, the boy who was holding the camel was helpful to takes photos of me. On the way to the quad bikes Omar stopped me close to the sphinx and took many photos of me. Then we went to the quad bikes station, where they gave me my own quad bike, they took another quad bike and we went to the desert to view the pyramids f

Luckily, we were only 4 people on the trip so each of us had a full row on the bus and could lie down and sleep the whole journey. That definitely helped making the long trip bearable. The drivers were nice and friendly, although they did not speak much English. Our guide Ahmed called us from Cairo when we entered the bus in the middle of the night telling us the plan for the journey. Ahmed was in general very enthusiastic and informative and it was very clear, that he wanted us to have a good experince! The Nile cruise is an absolute rip-off, so do not bother. However, we felt a little pressured to do it even though we did not really want to pay the extra 10 Euros. However, Ahmed made it sound like the money would also go towards entering a pyramid. I reckon it is all a big scam and a proper waste of money. Despite that, I can definitely recommend Ahmed and the trip as a whole!

This is a long day out but totally worth it. We stayed in Cairo for the week, therefore we flew to Luxor, a 1-hour flight at around 6am, we flew back around 8.30pm. We were met at Luxor Airport by our wonderful guide Youla who is from Luxor. Youla is lovely, so friendly and very knowledgeable and passionate about Egyptology. We had the best day with her! We were very excited to visit The Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple, Luxor Temple and the mesmerising Karnak Temple – major highlights of our trip all in one day. We had a lovely lunch at a restaurant in Karnak, good options for vegetarians too. Our flight back was delayed and Youla got her thinking cap on and suggested we have a trip on the Nile in a felucca boat, it was beautiful trip on the Nile just before sunset so the light was amazing, and it was a lovely end to an incredible day.

Our guide Amir way so great! Couldnt have asked for more. Such a cool and down to earth guy. Such an amazing experience and a good way to acquaint with the culture. Our driver was on time. Drove very safe. When we got there, the staff was very courteous and helpful. The food was amazing. So much to choose from and all local food. The singing was cool. The staff was attentive through out the whole thing as was our guide. He chatted with us, gave us some history about the Nile River and answered any questions we had. We enjoyed the view from the top of the boat as well.

We went on a wonderful day with Heba. Her level of English was fantastic and she had clearly studied and memorised very well all the relevant facts / anecdotes about the sites! We felt very at ease walking around and were able to answer questions freely. Heba had a lovely spirit to her and the day flew by. We managed to pack a lot in, and despite the Library being unavailable due to the Covid-19 situation, Heba improvised really well and took us to some other equally amazing locations.
