Full description
Extending 1.8 kilometers over the protected waters of Geographe Bay, the heritage-listed Busselton Jetty is the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere and the second longest in the world. Only 2.5 hours drive south of Perth, in the popular seaside resort town of Busselton, the Busselton Jetty attracts over 460,000 visitors per year. As one of the most popular tourist attractions in Western Australia, it is a must-see for any visitor to the Margaret River wine region.

On arrival, board the jetty train and travel 15 minutes across the ocean to reach the underwater observatory, located at the far end of the jetty. Explore with a guide and descend 8 meters to the ocean floor via a spiral staircase of 60 stairs. Marvel at wondrous sea creatures and beautiful expanses of labyrinthine coral sprawling into the deep. Your ticket includes a complimentary return train ride, a 40-minute guided tour of the underwater observatory, and a jetty day pass. The tour concludes back at the interpretive center.

Between April 27 and September 25, 2019, an amazing Virtual Reality (VR) Experience is added to the tour. Feel like you are actually diving through the jetty among marine life and mermaids with 3D vision through VR goggles.

Train was better than walking, I'm guessing. Knowledgeable tour guide identified all the fish we saw and there were plenty. Enough time to look around in the observatory and to the end of the jetty for photos etc. Good value for money. Then a surprise 15% discount at the Take Away Shack who provided a good seafood combo for 2.

The staff were so wonderful from start to finish. Myself being 7 months pregnant, a toddler attached at the hip as well as my hubby and 8 other family members accompanying us, I was concerned about how smooth everything would go. Much to my surprise, everything went perfectly and the guide was so, so considerate of my state and lack of fast mobility. The tour was informative, enjoyable and very well paced so that all attending could absorb and observe every detail.
