What people are saying about Buenos Aires
Took two hours to get to San Antonio de Areco, stopped at the small town on the way to the ranch. Nice church. Very informative guide. At the ranch we had a drink and some empanadas - they were excellent. Then there was a choice of horse riding or a carriage ride. It was possible to wander around the ranch. Lunch went on and on, the food was good. Don't fill up on the first round of meat - there were sausages, then pork, then chicken, then lamb, then beef, then more beef and more beef. There were some 'salad' dishes to go with all the meat. Wine, beer or soft drinks. Two choices for dessert. Then there was a 'show' with dancing and some singing. Audience participation - not for me!!! Very basic. Best part was the horse whispering demonstration, that was brilliant. I was expecting more gaucho demonstrations, but not to be. Another two hours back to Buenos Aires. Nice to get out of the city and see some countryside.
I had a tour that not only met, but exceeded my expectations. Not only was Pat super knowledgeable, but very personable. I was on the tour alone which sometimes can be a bit awkward with someone you don't know, BUT within 5 minutes I felt very comfortable and had the best day exploring El Tigre. I was discouraged by many to not take a tour and to do this on my own and I'm SO glad that I spent the money and did the tour! It was worth every penny!
Excellent day, a cultural museum, horse riding, dancing, music, Argentine steak and gauchos, what more could anyone want? Our guide/driver for the day was Phillipe and he was a steady reliable driver and very knowledgeable about the ranch and a lovely man indeed.
The tour and guide was very good, but the van had two languages that did not allow us to get full value. There was no effort to confirm this setup or give us options. There was no way the guide could impart all the info in the time allotted.
It was a beautiful experience. Much better than expected. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. The farm was lovely and very well taken care of. I highly recommend this experience!
