What people are saying about Budapest

wonderful day spent relaxing on a beautiful sunny day

The Szechenyi Baths itself is a beautiful building, but some areas are tired looking...especially the changing areas. You are able to buy snacks and both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, although we did see that other guests had brought their own. We are glad that we went in the week as we could imagine that it gets quite cramped at the weekends especially when the weather is good. The royale massage itself was fab, very relaxing, and the area/surroundings of this part of the baths is far nicer...definately on par with the massage rooms. We booked one of the latest appointments for oir massage and are glad we did as we wouldnt want to go back to the pool area afterwards as our skin felt so nice. There is a park and some really nice eating areas and this was a lovely way to round off what was a very relaxing day. I would highly recommend that you book in advance as it makes this activity run so much more smoothly. The baths itself is easily accessible by metro.

A great way to take time out to relax on your Budapest visit

The Gellert baths architecture is definitely to be appreciated - both in and out of the pools. A lovely way to de-compress in swimming pools, hot pools, sauna and/or the terrace bar if you've been doing a lot of walking, and whether you go for a fewf hours, or decide to stay longer and make a whole day of it. Be aware that only credit or debit cards are used in the restaurant and bar areas. Take your own towel and shower cap (needed for using some of the indoor pools) as well as costume and flip flops - to avoid extra payments. Booking with a cabin for changing and storing your outdoor clothes is definitely worth doing.

Entry was so quick. Did not have to cue to get a ticket.

Gellert thermal bath was a great experience. Entrance was quick. Had to buy a swimming cap as a requirement for the swimming pool but other guests had no caps actually so I think Gellert is not strict with the rules. There is only one thermal bath pool. There are so many guests so there is a quick turn over of people using the bath. Staff were kind. Cabin is big enough. Unfortunately, the cabin I got was just below a CCTV camera which was not good at all. Had to cover myself whilst dressing up.

One experience, you can’t afford to miss

The only one that I went to in Budapest so can’t compare . It’s a good place to manage crowds , but still not very well organised in the sense the changing rooms , cabins and shower rooms are all spread out - may be something that can be world upon . The weather was perfect - drizzles makes the thermal pool all the more enjoyable:) Overall wonderful place !

A definite ‘Must’ when visiting Budapest!

Spent an Incredible day at Gellért Spa! Booked a 45 min massage for end of day. This is a definite must while visiting Budapest. I was only going to spend a few hours there but ended up staying the whole day and enjoyed lunch by the pool.
