Full description
Enjoy a whole evening program, starting with a Hungarian folk dance performance and continuing with a dinner and cruise. In the evening maybe you can’t prove if Mr. Strauss was right with his color of Danube, but you will have a wonderful view on the illuminated Budapest and enjoy an unforgettable evening with a romantic candlelight atmosphere.

There are not many countries aside from Hungary, where the art of folk-dancing is at such high artistic level. There is even a college for studying Hungarian folk dances.

The Hungarian State Folk Ensemble, the Danube Folk Ensemble, and Hungaria Folk Ensemble & Orchestra are 3 of the best professional Hungarian folk ensembles with the longest tradition, which have performances all around the country and abroad.

All 3 ensembles consist of 30 artists. Their choreographies are based on authentic dances. Some of them were collected in isolated villages and date back hundreds of years. Through the performed dances you can get a broad view of the music, dance and costume heritage of Hungary and the Hungarian inhabited areas.

After the folklore performance, a host or hostess will escort you to the pier.

On the ship, you can feel Budapest's romantic atmosphere surrounded by the friendly lights of the Danube capital and enjoy a warm and excellent buffet-dinner.

As you eat, you will be taken on a 1.5-hour-long cruise on an air-conditioned ship. In the romantic candlelight atmosphere you can enjoy the wonderful view of Budapest swimming in light. After dinner you can also admire the panorama from the open upper deck of the ship.

Very nice dance performance

The dance was really good. I wished there was more of a Folklore dance than only music. The music was nice as well, but still I preferred was more of folklore dance. I really enjoyed the performance. The dinner in the cruise was very nice as well. The only disadvantage was that we had to sit with other people we didn't know around the same table, there were no tables for two or anything like that. But that wasn't a big issue. The food was good.

An exciting and enjoyable performance with stunning views at dinner.

Performance 5 stars Dinner offered 2 1/2 stars Views along the Danube 5 stars The performance was wonderful. The dancers and musicians alike offered strong renditions of Hungarian pieces; which turns out, are quite exciting, upbeat, and rhythmically stimulating. The food offered on the cruise was sub-par. I was disappointed at the lack of vegetables and the not-so-flavorful palate overall. The views of Parliament, Fishermans Bastion/Matthias Temple, the bridges, etc. along the river at night are so beautiful. Budapest does an excellent job with lighting.

INTERESTING BUT A LITTLE REPETITIVE

The show is correct; but we miss an explanatory booklet of the different dances, which would have a meaning given that they changed the atmosphere and dress although the dance itself were almost similar
