What people are saying about Budapest

Interesting but multiple languages was an issue

I enjoyed seeing Budapest and the main guide was knowledgeable but this was booked as an English tour and he had to repeat everything in Spanish which became quite confusing and annoying (for both sets of audiences) as you missed things that were already in the rear view. The English guide at the city itself was difficult to understand. It would be good to include in the tour description how long is the ride, whether you stop for food and how long you are actually in the city.

Beautiful building and incredibly moving

The building is beautiful and is very different to other synagogues globally. The tours go from inside the synagogue itself (just find the language flag and take a seat). It’s well worth doing the tour. There are also some very moving memorials to the holocaust victims, survivors and those who risked their lives helping. The museum is larger than expected. Well worth the visit.

Beautiful concert inside a stunning building

The organ concert was great, the building was softly lit on arrival which made a lovely atmosphere. While the organ solo’s were interesting, the several duets with the flutist and singer made for a different and enjoyable concert. Only downside would be that at the end of the concert we were very quickly ushered out the building.

Excellent visit and very touching museum and history

We were really surprised by this visit; we learned some history of the Nazi occupation of Budapest that we didn't know. We arrived early at 0930 and were the first people allowed in at 1000. We did the tour on our own as we were on a time crunch to see other things in Budapest. But we highly recommend going to this Synagogue.

Matthias Church was the highlight of our trip to Budapest.

Best tour guide ever. Our personal tour guide Beata was very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the history of the church and the incredible beauty of the architecture. he church is dry accessible by either walking, funicular or by bus which will take you to the front door.
