Full description
Day 1: Budapest - Arad - Timisoara

Depart from your hotel or directly from Budapest Airport to first visit the city of Arad after entering Romania. Then visit Timisoara, soon to be European Capital of Culture for 2019.

Day 2: Timisoara - Corvini's Castle - Alba Iulia - Sibiu

Head to the Corvini's Castle, one of the most important Gothic Castle in Eastern Europe. Later see the city where Romania was Born in 1918, Alba Iulia. In the evening arrive in Sibiu, a magical city steeped in the atmosphere of another era. Enjoy dinner in a traditional peasant's house with wine and palinka (fruit brandy) included.

Day 3 Sibiu – Biertan – Sighisoara – Targu Mures - Bistrita

Now travel through typical Transylvanian villages and arrive in Biertan where you will visit the UNESCO fortified church of Biertan, famous for the tower of divorce. Later arrive in Sighisoara to eat lunch right in the house where Vlad Dracula was born. Visit the medieval UNESCO citadel before departure to Targu Mures to view the Art Nouveau Roses Square. 

Day 4 Bistrita – Voronet – Moldovita – Sucevita – Gura Humorului

Depart Bistrita for Bucovina where a group of Orthodox monasteries with their world famous external wall paintings can be admired. These painted monasteries were made a UNESCO World Heritage site for their rarity and beauty. Visit the most significant Moldovita, Sucevita and Voronet monasteries.

Day 5 Gura Humorului – Piatra Neamt – Red Lake – Miercurea Ciuc

Head to Piatra Neamt, a important ski resort. After a short stop continue on one of the most beautiful roads in Romania crossing the Bicaz Gorges. After a visit to the Red Lake arrive in the evening at Miercurea Ciuc. Visit the Fortress of Miko and enjoy a wine tasting before having dinner in a traditional Hungarian restaurant.

Day 6 Miercurea CIuc – Brasov – Bran – Sinaia

Arrive in Brasov, where you will visit the famous Black Church, the largest Gothic building in south eastern Europe. Later see the first Romanian school, the Council Square and St. Nicholas Church. Depart Brasv for Bran where you will visit the famous castle of Count Dracula, inspiration for the legendary Bram Stoker novel. In the evening arrive in Sinaia “the Pearl of the Carpathian mountains."

Day 7 Sinaia – Bucarest

Complete your tour of Romania's castles with a visit to the beautiful Seres Castle. Then depart to Bucharest to visit the Village Museum. Enjoy a visit to the Parliament Building, the second largest building of the world after the Pentagon in the United States. Indulge in a special dinner in the famous restaurant Caru cu Bere.

Day 8

Spend free time exploring Bucharest before transfer to your return flight.
