Great Excursion with Altered Itinerary...

Originally, we were supposed to do the Sibiu & Fagaras Fortress Tour but having realized so late that it was such a long drive 4.5 hrs just to get there (apparently it's best to do this trip in 2days!) we decided to change our destination and headed to Curtea de Arges to visit the royal musoleum where former rulers are buried. Right next to it is a beautiful Byzantine Monastery with a lovely garden and where an impressive 16th century orthodox cathedral honouring the Blessed Virgin can be found. Then we went to Targoviste and saw one of the oldest castles erected during the 14-15th century reign of Vlad the Impaler & his predecessors (grandfather & father). Afterwards we visited the military barrack where the communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife Elena were executed right after a mock trial that lasted merely 2hrs. As last stop we visited their pompous mansion in the city of Bucharest. Our guide Mihai was full of knowledge which he shared with us. Thank you for a great day!

Good tour, great guide, busy day, Easter weekend

The trip was well organised, collected from hotel, transferred to a larger bus with the rest of the group, informative guide (Alex). Trouble was, it was Easter weekend, it took 2hrs from arriving at Peles Castle, to enter the castle doors! This meant we were behind schedule all day. But Alex did the best he could to ensure we still had a full private tour of both castles and time to explore Braşov. We got back to our hotel later than expected, but that was not due to the tour guide or company, it was due to the sheer numbers of visitors at Peles Castle and lack of organisation on their part.

A well-guided event most worthy of doing!

Loved going to the castles and Brasov because it brought the Romanian history alive for us. The Romanian countryside is so beautiful. Marian, our guide, was super personable and he was knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. We traveled in a Mercedes Benz van and it was comfortable and clean. So glad we went. We'd definitely recommend the tour.

Great trip, beautiful countryside, cool castles and town

Vlad was a great guide , helped the the tour jump the huge ques on the day we did the the trip. Vlad supplied a mind blowing amount of interesting facts, stories, history, social commentary and a book review of Bram Stokers Dracula during the the 12 hour trip.

Very interesting tour, breathtaking road

Very interesting tour, with a cultured and kind guide, a journey that is worth doing, in a very beautiful and breathtaking road that goes through carpathian mountains, made by Caeusescu for escaping in case of need. I reccomend to do it
