What people are saying about Bucharest

The best part of our tour of Romania was provided by Get your Guide

We were reluctant to make bookings from Dubai. Upon arrival in Bucharest, the hotel staff were keen to provide touring options only with 1 company. Fortunately during our web search we stumbled upon Get your Guide. And that was the turning point for us to be opened to a gateway of information and options..........leaving us wishing we sighted this Guide earlier, or had more days planned. We booked a full day trip to Sinia Monastry, Peles castle, Bran Castle, returning through Brasov. We were attended by CT&T. Our guide and driver was Mr. Claudiu Cirjan. I can't praise enough, for the courtesy, care and information he provided. I rate his services as 'par excellence ' !! He is well informed on historical subjects and gifted with superb English communication skills. He made us completely change our perspective of Romania, besides of course, Get your Guide's offers. We will be strongly recommending him as well as GyG to any of our friends travelling to Romania. Thank you very much.

Fantastic insights into Bucharest history

Absolutely satisfied with this fascinating tour and my guide for the afternoon, Tudor. From the moment he met me -- at the appointed hour, at the appointed Metro stop, with both bottled water and a gift of Romanian Easter eggs (it was Easter Monday) in hand -- I was thoroughly impressed with the itinerary and Tudor's grasp of Romanian and local Bucharest history. Tudor is super-friendly and accommodating guide. Loved the visits to cemeteries, rickety apartment blocks, Communist-era Metro stops and government structures, and sites associated with the 1989 revolution. Hair-raising details about Bucharest serial killers was an added bonus. Best of all, Tudor followed up with an email contaIning links to online articles and resources further explaining and exploring all the topics we covered. That's a first for me -- and I was a travel journalist for 15 years and have taken scores and scores of tours around the world. I

The best alternative city tour you can get

A local guude named Mircea did a solo tour with only me and after a few minutes it already felt like walking through the streets with a close friend. The dark side of Bucharest included a visit to the cemetery and to some other places in the city where gruesome things took place. From architecture to politics, Mircea knew an answer to all the questions I've had. Mind you, it's not at all your usual "follow the umbrella" tour and he and his team aim for providing tourists with a far more personal and heartfelt experience. He's with Urban Adventures Bucharest and does a lot of other "alternative" walking tours so I can not recommend them enough. I've learned a lot and I had a lot of fun, what more could you possibly ask for?

Very informative enjoyable 3 hour tour exploring the past

Andrei was the guide who met us outside the pre arranged time, who greeted our group with a sincere genuine welcome to the tour which was a refreshing change. We proceeded to the tour which was at a steady pace enough to absorb all the information about the city and its past. We visited quite a variety of things, some sad and of a dark past, but mostly I felt an optimism for this faboulous city. If I had not taken this tour I would not have known many things about Bucharest, I cannot recommend it enough. The tour guide went well above and beyond, and even after the tour took us to a place we were trying to find.

We chose the Darkside Tour, and it was quite a ride!

We chose the Darkside Tour, and it was quite a ride. As active urban explores and inhabitants of Bucharest, our guide Dana managed to find new and amazing places to see, having a deep knowledge about all the dark places this great city has to offer. The stories she told us in Bellu Cemetery were both terrifying and exciting as it was all true, implementing details that are weird and less know about popular historical figures. Definitely a great way to spice things up and enjoy your Bucharest stay. We are excited about other tours as well.
