Full description
Explore the legend of Count Dracula at Bran Castle on this full-day tour of the castles of Transylvania. The 12-hour sightseeing excursion departs from Bucharest for the spectacular Carpathian Mountains, stopping at Sinaia, Bran, and Brasov.

Named after biblical Mount Sinai, Sinaia is the site of Peleș Castle, built on a medieval route that linked Transylvania to Wallachia. The former royal residence is a masterpiece of German Renaissance architecture.

Immerse yourself in the legend of Count Dracula, Bram Stoker's famous vampire, based on the life of Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler), a 15th-century ruler revered by Romanians for standing up to the Ottoman Empire. One of the most dreadful foes of the Turks, Vlad enforced the death penalty by impaling all those he considered enemies.

Stroll through the medieval heart of Brasov, one of the largest medieval towns of the area. Explore the historic streets, filled with characterful monuments, such as the Black Tower, and Gothic St. Nicholas Church. Before your return journey to Bucharest, enjoy lunch at a traditional Romanian restaurant, and sample some of Transylvania’s cuisine.
