Full description
The experience begins with pickup from your hotel and heads to the north of Bogotá. Pass through a savanna, which is home to Muisca settlements, then travel to the top of a mountain to reach the first stop of the day. Arrive at the Sacred Lagoon of Guatavita and admire the scenic view while listening to the legend of El Dorado.

Continue the tour to Sesquille and visit an indigenous reserve where you will learn about Colombian culture from the locals. Next, discover the site of a catastrophic flood which destroyed an entire town, forcing the residents to relocate. Once you’ve worked up a bit of an appetite, enjoy a traditional Colombian lunch made with fresh, regional ingredients.

After lunch, visit the new location of the town that was destroyed by the 1967 flood. Learn about how the resident’s rebuilt their lives and their homes as you marvel at the charming Colombian architecture of the buildings. After an unforgettable day of cultural exploration, head back to Bogotá to watch a spectacular sunset across the savanna.
