What people are saying about Blue Mountains

Excellent itinerary; terrible bus experience

With all due respect to the TOTALLY disabled passenger & heroic husband & prevailing laws for disabilities accommodation laws, I make this suggestion. This person who arrived in a wheelchair could not stand, or even hold her head erect without assistance. Hence she had to be physically carried from the wheel chair into her seat by her husband, and more disturbingly, by our driver, who was totally unprepared for her and his physical participation. (He was fabulous as a guide, but 75 yr old) The bus, as well as not having a lift for a wheel chair, or a space to accommodate & secure a w/c, did not even have a space to store an unoccupied w/c except at the back tenuously blocking the aisle fort the last row of clients. So while the husband claims he reportedly mentioned the potential problems to you, it doesn’t appear any attempt at accommodation happend. While he & your driver were heros in all this, to the rest of us, while accepting, had our experience significantly diminished.

Despite the weather, this tour was FANTASTIC!

Pros: - David (our guide) was very knowledgable and was one of the best tour guides, I've ever had! His explanation of everything was wonderful and he was very witty, funny and entertaining! - The small group of 10 made it easy to move quickly from place to place and it felt like we were on a private tour with David. - Featherdale was a great place to see all the indigenous animals! - The Blue Mountains were BEAUTIFUL! Cons: - The tour company did not pick us up from our hotel in Bondi (less than 15 min drive from other hotels near downtown) Overall the tour was great and if you can get David as your guide then you'll be lucky! Thanks for a great tour!

Thoroughly enjoyed the day with enough time to see the sites

Started off with a wonderful stop at the wildlife sanctuary where we cold get close to several animals including kangaroos (who were rather affectionate :)) and had a photo opportunity with a koala. In the blue mountains I opted to skip the rides as I prefer doing the less touristy things. Instead I went for a good bush walk. Leura was also a pleasant little town for lunch. The boat ride back was initially a little dragging since it was pitch dark however amazing scenery as we got into circular quay. Steve, our guide did a fantastic job...not just as a guide...but also as an entertainer ;).

Spectacular views; uneven, slippery, wet walking needed

The views are wonderful; the tour guide’s accent was not easy for a non-Australian. The rows on the bus were very close, so it was cramped seating. No overhead bin for backpacks, that had to be tucked between our legs. Lots of walking in uneven, steep, slippery, often wet surfaces. My wife who is 67 and quite fit couldn’t go down to Wentworth Falls. I am wondering how we would have coped in a wet day. We went on a glorious and sunny day. We were not advised about how cold it world get at the Three Sisters viewing gallery at sunset.

Our driver/guide (David) was excellent, knowledgable and personable.

The scenery was good, but the drive was a bit long for what we saw. However, I highly recommend the Featherdale Wildlife Farm, where we saw baby kangaroos or wallabies in their mothers' pouches. The time at the wildlife farm could be a little longer. We ate at an excellent restaurant at lunch stop along the way, Bon Ton. It was not an included meal, but well worth the visit....food, staff and ambiance were superb.
