Full description
Just 45 minutes north of Ljubljana, there lies the magical Alpine resort, Bled with its magical lake. Ascend the old castle, perched on top of a steep cliff above the lake, and take some time to enjoy spectacular views of the surroundings from the castle's terraces. A boat ride on a ‘Pletna’ – a traditional boat made by locals -  is mandatory when visiting Bled. Reach the only true island in Slovenia, ring the ‘fortune bell’ and soak up the sun, peace and fresh mountain air. Afterwards, stop for tastings of some local food products in Bled.

Then it's time to head south to discover the mysteries of the Slovenian karst in the Postojna cave. The guided tour of the cave takes you on a ride by electrical train and a walk through the beautiful passages and chambers with spectacular drop stones, pillars, limestone curtains, and other extraordinary wonders of the underground world. Afterwards, enjoy tasting some local spirits in Postojna.

Continue to the idyllic village of Predjama to enjoy the medieval fairytale of the amazing Predjama castle, the largest cave castle with its dramatic setting in the gaping mouth of a cavern half-way up a hillside. Learn about the legend of a famous knight, Erasmus – the ‘Slovenian Robin Hood’ and other local folk traditions before heading back to Ljubljana.

Very nice visit to 3 destinations. The tour guide was friendly and informative. However, the guide discussed politics and issues which were not appropriate or professional. Stick to cultural and historic information. The van was full to capacity, and the front seat was too small for driver and 2 passengers. The guide was a great driver, and bypassed traffic jams.

Roundabout Travel's Guide Jan Provided a Memorable Lake Bed Tour

Roundabout Travel offers the only tour of Lake Bred that I could find that also included Postojna Cave, and Predjama Castle. All three sites are breathtakingly beautiful. Jan, our Guide, was very informative and helpful. He changed the order of activities so that we could visit the island in Lake Bleed before other tour groups arrived. When I asked about Tito's former summer home, he offered to show it to me while the other 7 members of tour went to lunch. When he asked if anyone else wanted to go see those site, all of them accepted even though it meant shortening their lunch break, as well as his rest time. When we returned to Ljubljana, he took a family to the train station to help them fix a problem with their tickets even though it was a long day, he was working overtime, and he had nothing to do with the problem. It was a great tour and Jan was a wonderful guide. On the way home, he went with

Amazing Slovenian tour

This is a fantastic tour if you don't have much time and want to see two amazing places in Slovenia: lake Bled and the Postojna cave. It's nearly 11 hours long and thus quite tiring, since the lake and the cave are pretty much in the opposite direction when leaving from Ljubljana, but it's definitely worth it as they are both amazing. The guides were very good and professional, picking us up near the hotel and explaining many things along the way. The bus was actually a little van, so not too much space if you have bags, but we were only a small group so it was fine. Definitely recommended
