Full description
'Operation Banner' was the name for the British Armed Forces' operation in Northern Ireland from August 1969 to July 2007, as part of the Troubles. It was the longest continuous deployment in the British military's history. If you are someone with a keen interest in Northern Ireland's recent political conflict, then this unique and riveting 'Operation Banner' guided coach tour from Belfast to South Armagh cannot be missed.

You will hear at first hand about some key military actions which took place between Irish Republicans and the British Army in South Armagh, an area which was once described by British Army Commanders as 'the most dangerous posting for any British soldier in Northern Ireland'. You will be led by two knowledgeable guides, one, a former Irish Republican activist and the other an ex-British soldier who had been posted to South Armagh. Listen to each as they narrate and navigate you through their own experiences of the conflict. Before leaving Belfast you will see some of the most well known political murals in the city.
