I loved this tour so much. The group was around 10 people and it felt like we were the only ones on the wall. The guide, Chen, was hilarious and provided great commentary for us. He left us to walk the wall alone so if you’re looking for a guided tour this isn’t for you, but I preferred it as you could take it at your own pace and stop for pictures, and everything is well sign posted. Lunch was also super delicious! Have breakfast before you come and bring cash for coffee and other drinks.

Amazing hike even on the unrestored part of the Great Wall. Not many people during this hike which made the experience worth. It is challenging hike as some parts are very steep but definitely worth it. Our guide Chen guided us through the trip, we paid extra for the cable car to the top, lunch was included (it was okay) as well as pick up/drop off at the given meeting points. What was confusing that a night before I got confirmation that Fiona the guide will pick me up yet Chen showed up. Would be nice if he had some ID card or Sign. Everything worked out well in the end.

I’m really glad I booked a tour and didn’t attempt to get to the Great Wall myself. Pick up was straight forward and James, the guide, was excellent. Can’t recommend enough
