Full description
Discover the sites of the British Army's D-Day landings during the early hours of June 6, 1944, with an English-speaking guide.

Learn about Operation Deadstick, the British attempt to capture two bridge roads without causing any damage to them to maintain access to Sword Beach. Make your first stop on this tour at one of those bridges, Pegasus Bridge, now displayed in the Pegasus Museum. Then, head to the most easterly D-Day landing beach, Sword Beach.

After this, explore the Hillman Fortress, a bunker complex that was one of the German strong points on the Atlantic Wall. Underground fortifications and 18 casemates can still be seen, along with a memorial dedicated to the 1st Battalion, Suffolk Regiment, which liberated the place.

Finish your Normandy battlefield tour with a visit to the Commonwealth Military Cemeteries, the largest of which is located in Bayeux. Pause and reflect in cemetery grounds that France gifted to the United Kingdom in recognition of the sacrifice of British troops during the D-Day operations that led to the liberation of the country.

A memorial to the unknown soldiers who died in Normandy is also located just opposite the cemetery. At the end of the British D-Day landing tour, you will be dropped off in Bayeux, at the same location where you were picked up.
