Full description
This tour is self-guided, so you choose when you want start and how much time you want to spend on the tour. However it's recommended to start before 11 AM so you can arrive right on time for lunch at the KLARA food court. Here you can look forward to delicious lunchtime snacks (until 2 PM). The tour voucher (handed out on the first stop) contains all the information about directions you need to find each stop as listed below:

Start at Bäckerei KULT "Elsi" Here a young team has breathed new life into Basel’s oldest bakery. Everything from the jam to the vanilla cream is handmade. Stop here, find out what a “Basel Gold” is and get one to try. Then go further to Basel Unverpackt, your second stop on the tour. Anyone who is keen to take a more conscious approach to life will know this shop. The team’s priorities are zero waste, recycling, and sustainable preservation of foodstuffs. Here you can fill up on organic products. Afterwards, head over to your third stop. At KLARA you can enjoy international dishes in a laid-back atmosphere. Sample 3 delicacies from around the world with a drink of your choice.

At your fourth stop, you will get to try some delicious ice cream. This delightful, narrow ice cream parlor in Rheingasse is simply impossible to pass by. Acero’s dairy ice creams, vegan fruit sorbets or vegan coconut and rice-milk ice creams are just delicious. You will get 3 flavors in a cup here. The last stop of the day is a popular and inspirational concept store called, Hejkøh. Here, relax in the living room on the first floor and taste their delicious ginger lemonade, served either hot or cold.

First four places were great staff helpful friendly welcoming. But skip the last place it was awful when we said we were with the food tour she rolled her eyes and then served everyone else in line until we were the only ones left then she gave us a spell about how great her chocolate was then she gave us a little mint each We were supposed to get a hot chocolate but she was so nasty we were just happy to get out. If not for the last place would have been 5 stars

The concept of the self-guided tour is convincing. It allows you to organize the time yourself. We took a little break after the first 3 posts. We used this to visit an exhibition. In Basel we also met very nice and courteous "hosts" who explained their products and concept to us. We liked the choice of providers very much. The quality of the snacks offered was excellent. We can unconditionally recommend the tour in Basel.

All but one of the stops were fantastic! the last stop, the chocolate place tried to charge us for the hot chocolate and said the tour company made a mistake to say it was included. They planned to give us two tiny pieces of chocolate for free instead. we got the drinks for free and they took the chocolate back. but the overall tour was worth it. Great experiences at the other venues!
