The meeting place was very easy to find, the ride to Monserrat was smooth and comfortable in a coach van. Our guide, Adrian, was very friendly and incredibly resourceful! He is a wealth of knowledge about Monserrat. We had plenty of time to explore the monastery before taking the tram up to the peak, and they hike back down to the monastery was comfortable and scenic. My travel buddies and I highly recommend this experience! WELL worth the cost!

This was a great tour and I highly recommend. Meeting point was easy to find and we had a very nice/luxurious van to take us to the final destination. The tour guide explained things along the ride which was also beautiful. The guide was very kind and patient and explained things thoroughly. The hike was a casual downhill walk for the most part with great lookout points. I do recommend well fitting shoes with good soles as a lot of it is rock/gravel going downhill. Hiking boots are not necessary, tennis shoes would be adequate. The guide was also very knowledgeable about the monastery and we got a full tour of the grounds. The only thing that you will most likely not have time for is if you want to wait in line to go in front of the Black Madonna (statue of the Virgin Mary). The line is incredibly long and you only get to stand in front of Her statue for a few moments. You can see her from the Sanctuary. This was not an issue for our group as no one wanted to wait in the line.

This is an excellent excursion. The meeting point is easy to find and we left promptly at 8:30 AM. Our guide, Adria Margarit, spoke excellent English, which the whole tour group could understand. He began explaining features of Barcelona as soon as we started moving, and demonstrated a deep knowledge of the city and the area. We arrived at Montserrat monastery in good time, and Adria gave us an excellent account of the history of the monastery, it’s place in the political and economic world, and the music school. We had a great tour of the top after riding the funicular, and even though the place was shrouded in fog, it was a lovely and interesting walk, informative, and Adria even showed us good pics of the view as a z””substitute”. He was efficient, funny, knowledgeable, and Helpful, ready to take our pictures at any time to use. I don’t normally like going on tours, but I definitely recommend this one. This was a superb trip, well worth money, and the guide was terrific.
