Full description
Visit the Penedès region on this 6-hour excursion and learn all about the fascinating world of wine. Situated between the sea and the mountains, the Penedès enjoys both the influence of the sun and the Mediterranean Sea, making it a prime territory for winemaking.

Travel by luxury Mercedes SUV to visit 2 hand-picked family wineries. Your first stop is a boutique winery that has been cultivating vines for over 2,000 years. You will be welcomed by an expert winemaker who will tell you about the history of the winery and show you the subterranean wine cellar. In this remarkable space, you’ll learn fascinating facts about grape varieties, vine growing, winemaking and the optimal conditions for wine storage.

You’ll have the opportunity to taste 4 fine wines in a stylish tasting room, accompanied by an assortment of gourmet delicacies that underline the nuances of each of the wines. Next, you’ll visit the traditional manor house (the current residence of the owner family) and the vineyards, to discover the art and secrets of winemaking.

Continue the visit through the vineyards in a convertible 4x4 vehicle, accompanied by your guide and a viticulturist. Admire the stunning rural landscape with seemingly endless vineyards. Along the way, and in the midst of the vines, you’ll pass a Romanesque church that belongs to the manor.

The second and final visit is to an equally historical winery specializing in cava, a naturally sparkling wine with an unmistakable flavor deeply rooted in Catalonia. The ancestral estate is built over an old farmhouse but features cutting-edge design facilities.

Enjoy the opportunity to enter the capella, the heart of the cellar, and the oldest part of the winery. After visiting the vineyard and cellar, you’ll have a chance to taste 4 unique types of cava. Each will be paired with an appetizer that enhances the tasting experience.

Really fun day trip getting out of the city and seeing Spanish wine country. Both vineyards are beautiful and you get an intimate tour through their cellars with a detailed description of how the winemaking process works. The only thing to keep in mind is that you get very little food! Definitely eat breakfast before you go because you will be very hungry when you come back in the afternoon.

I was nervous at first that the tour wouldn't be what I expected. When the driver arrived, he spoke little English and was 30 mins late. He also arrived in a large van which is not the 4x4 I was expecting. That said, we pulled up on the estate and it was beautiful. We were greeted by the owner and her staff and walked around before we were then transported around the property via open top Land Rovers. We had very generous samples of wine and cava, and the tapas paired beautifully, I just wish we would have been warned to not nosh before the wine was poured as we ate everything before we could properly pair it with wine. I also wish we would have been instructed on how to properly taste the wine. They gave us some tips but didn't demonstrate how to swirl or sniff.

Everything perfectly organized. Pick up super punctually at the agreed place. Then about 40 minutes drive to the Montserrat area. First a tour in a jeep through the vineyards, then wine tasting. Our young leader Martha was competent and unobtrusive. The wines and snacks were great! We were a total of 8 people and were well looked after. Then it went to the cava rehearsal. We were all very impressed with the amount of work that goes into producing the Cavas. All in all a top organized tour with incredible insights !!! Gladly again !
