Full description
This half-day tour that will take you to enjoy an exclusive experience at the most ancient and spectacular winery and boutique, Llopart. This winery was chosen by Guy Fieri for the filming of his program Guy Fieri's Spain Adventure.

From Barcelona, be driven to the Penedès region, which is located at 20km from the coast. The sun and the Mediterranean Sea influence give this place the perfect scenery for the vine harvest and for that reason it has become the Designation of Origin for some of the Penedès wines. Xarel·lo is the grape variety most cultivated in this area because it has adapted well to the geographical and weather conditions. Other grape varieties that are typical in Penedés include Macabeu and Perallada. In recent years, other varieties have been successfully introduced including Chardonnay, Riesling, and White Sauvignon.

After a warm welcome with a glass of cava from an expert of the winery, you will learn about organic farming and the elaboration of artisanal cavas and wines that are appreciated by the local wine lovers. During the tour, you will have the privilege to explore the private country house of the Llopart family, inherited by Bernardus Leopardi in the XIV Century. It is here that you will have an olive oil tasting.

Continue your tour and explore both the old and the modern winery where you will learn about the elaboration and aging of the sparkling wines from this prestigious Catalan winery. Head to the small cellar in the house basement where in 1887 the first bottle of Llopart cava was created. Visit one of the oldest vineyards here, La Vinya de Paulino, with vines that are more than 75 years old. Then, continue to the current facilities where all products of Llopart's range of cavas are produced now.

At the ExVite tasting room, you will have the chance to enjoy two more tastings, one glass of wine and one more glass of cava, this time Gran Reserva type. These drinks will be served with a brunch of local products including bread topped with tomato, cold meats, and cheese.
