Full description
Enjoy a private day trip to visit the Maeklong Railway, Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and the highlights of Kanchanaburi province in western Thailand in just one day. Start your tour with pick-up from your hotel in Bangkok at 6:45 AM. You will travel in comfort with a private transfer to the Maeklong Railway Market. Witness the train passing over the food and fruits stalls which run along the very narrow train track.

Continue to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market by air-conditioned vehicle. Visit the most famous and original floating market in Thailand, where the villagers sell their fruit and food products on their paddle boats. You will take a private boat tour to enter the floating market. Along the way, you will be able to see the farms and traditional Thai style houses along the canal.

Afterward, transfer to Kanchanaburi province where you will have an optional Thai Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit the bridge over the River Kwai, built by prisoners of war. Learn the history of WWII, and how bridge and the railway were constructed. Visit Krasae Cave and on board at the train from Krasae cave station to Tha-Kilen station (about 30 minutes). A fabulous tour with Harry, our lovely knowledgeable guide and professional photographer! We were well looked after in a comfortable and clean, air conditioned SUV with our very safe driver Mr Chet who also provided plenty of cold water and flannels throughout the day. Set at a good pace, the day was most enjoyable and interesting. Harry’s English was understandable and nothing was too much trouble. He showed us best places to stand and sit to get the best out of the tour. We would definitely recommend this trip.

For those booking this trip avoid Sunday as this is a busy day for both tourists and for the roads with weekenders travelling back to Bangkok from Hoa Hin. The other item to avoid is the long car journey back to Bangkok. Better to take the train and public transport back to Bangkok. We joined the train at Thamkra Sae and were picked up by car 4 stops later for the ride back to Bangkok that was just short of 3 hours! The guide Mr Pong and driver Mr Chim did their best to keep us amused!

Worth price

This tour might seem a bit expensive but it is definetely good. Best option for short time available, concentrating in one day many beautiful must see spots. The guide moves very comfortable in all places allowing you to always get the best spots for view and pictures and also offered us lots of traditional foods during all day from the market, additional to the included lunch. Meanwhile gives you lots of info about thailand and what you are visiting specificly
