Next, visit the Allied War Cemetery which is commemorates the 6,000 allied prisoners of war who perished along the railway line and were moved after the war to this eternal resting place.

Continue to the world famous Bridge over the River Kwai, a part of the Death Railway, constructed by Allied POWs. Afterward, take a long-tailed boat on the River Kwai to the floating hotel at River Kwai Jungle Rafts to have lunch. After lunch, journey downstream to Phu Takian Pier and visit the Hellfire Pass Memorial. Then return to the rafts to enjoy your dinner, followed by a 45–minute presentation of traditional Mon Dance.

Begin your second day with a visit to a Mon tribal village to learn about local traditions and customs. Trek through the jungle and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. A really well organised trip that ran like clockwork! We started off in quite a big group, but ended up splinting to separate hotels, and so our tour continued with just two people, which was excellent! The Kwai Jungle Rafts were an incredible experience and I’d recommend to anyone. It was really interesting to hear the history or the hotel and everyone there was so friendly. Food was all delicious too.

We had 3 different guides which I personally didn’t like. The first guide was very hard to understand and he talked the whole way to the jungle rafts drop off, when you get on at 6am I think he could start the presentation after the coffee stop. The museum was very informative and the whole experience with the jungle rafts guide was amazing he was very knowledgeable and seemed to go out of his way to point out things also helped my mum with transport at hell fire pass which was great. Floating down the river at the raft house was another great experience

Floating hotel was the highlight- a beautiful location and extremely peaceful. Near the hotel it was nice to be given a local guide who taught us all about the local culture The tours on both days seemed very rushed and we did not have time to read through everything at the museums visited in detail. The tour guides were constantly in a rush to make the train on time which was not really that special on the first day.
