What people are saying about Ayung River
The activities - climbing Mt. Batur and Rafting on the river Ayung - are really fun and showed us two other amazing sides of Bali's diverse landscape and nature. However, doing both in one day after getting up in the middle of the night is a bit exhausting and we would probably plan it separately next time. Our driver Kadek made the most out of it though by bringing us to a Coffee Producer after Mt. Batur, where we enjoyed a coffee tasting, and by taking some sideways to show us the rice terraces and some other interesting places. While the driver was really friendly and engaging, the guide for the trekking was rather silent. She really didn't share any facts or insights, basically just showed the way. Also the organization of the rafting was rather poor. They couldn't really handle the mass of people which led to unnecessary waiting times throughout the rafting. Everything gets wet on the tour, so bring only swimwear and some rupiahs for drinks on the way.
Everything was fantastic. Thanks to our guide Morris. He made the rafting experience a safe and exciting time. The only downfall is the almost 400 steps down to the river and 400 steps back up to the top. Two people in our party weren’t not able to make it down the steps. I would suggest taking a small waterproof pouch to put you camera or phone in as the scenery is breathtaking.
A great adventure, easily booked, hotel pick up on time and well organised. Guide was excellent and made for a fun, enjoyable time. Watch out for the steps at the beginning and end (400+ each way) as they are a bit of a trek, had sore legs for a day or two afterwards, but well worth it.
Loved every second, really really fun and beautiful scenery. The only downside that made me give it 4 stars instead of 5 was it lasted around one and a half hours, i would have loved for it to be longer because it felt really quick in the water. Overall an amazing experience though
The views and the whole experience was absolutely to die for! The hotel pick up and drop off was very convenient and everything ran so smoothly. Our guide Sonic was amazing Traditional lunch was also very yummy. Five stars will book again if we come back!
