Full description
Your guide will first take you to Fontaine de Vaucluse, a beautiful village located by the river Sorgue. Walk up to its spring – one of the biggest in Europe. Next, stop at Sénanque Abbey and take as many pictures as you want of this majestic 12th century Abbey which is surrounded by lavender fields.

After the photo-stop at the 'belvedere', head off to Gordes, a hilltop village made of local dry stones and enjoy the market (on Tuesdays). Explore the Provencal village of Roussillon, and observe the houses, whose colors vary with the sunlight. The Provencal market on Thursday adds even more colors. This is where you will take your lunch break (not included).

After lunch, explore the lavender fields. Fill your body with fresh lavender fragrance, take some pictures and have a look at a distillation operation during harvest.

Your final stop is the village of Sault, in the middle of a bucolic landscape, isolated from civilization. There, enjoy some free time for shopping, taste a lavender ice cream or have a drink on a panoramic terrace.

At the end of the tour, your guide will drive you back to Avignon.

Good choice

Even when there was only one remaining lavender field with flowers, and even when I selected the tour to see more fields, Gilles took us to several small villages that were super nice and worth to visit. I think you should not sell this tour if no lavender fields are bloomed, but anyways it was a nice day for me.

Great Service

We had booked a small group tour but even though there were not enough passengers, we were taken in a private car. The tour was great. Our guide, Gilles Balazut was very prompt and took us to more places than planned as we were just the two of us. Even though the lavender fields were not blossomed, we were intimated well in advance and the tour was modified according to our convenience. The villages of Luberon were beautiful and anyone who would like to spend a nice quite day visiting beautiful villages, it is a great tour. If you get the lavender fields blossoming, you are more lucky! I recommend this trip.

We are family of 3 from Hong Kong. My girl is 8 years old. All of us rate this trip five stars. We departed from Avignon on a Tuesday morning. The weather was good and this also added value on the trip. The scenery was astonishing good! We were in other places like Black Forest, Chamonix, Paris in this trip. They are good but the southern France is really extraordinary. The tour guide was experienced and informative. We had a chance to see the process of making Lavender Oil which should not be possible without his introduction. We were also lucky to meet the market time in the village. It was great fun! The only little problem is the route is really long and bumpy on road. Guess some people may need antiemetics, but we were fine anyway throughout the trip.
