What people are saying about Auckland

Very Professional Excursion, Would Highly Recommend

Unfortunately we didn't get to see any whales on the day that we went out, they simply weren't making themselves available. However, we did see hundreds of dolphins. Seeing dolphins out in their natural habitat is just incredible, it took a bit of time to find them on the day that we were out, but it was well worth the wait. The captain of the boat could not have worked harder to find them out in the open ocean, the whole trip was very professional from start to finish. I would definitely go out again in the hope of finding whales next time.

Cool museum (more than just wartime exhibits)

We thoroughly enjoyed the museum, but don't let it's name fool you - the museum does have an exhibit that showcases New Zealand's participation in WWII, but it also features a large natural history section and an early peoples exhibit. I particularly enjoyed the natural history exhibit as the knowledge I gained helped me during the rest of our 12-day trip. I was even able to answer some of our guide's questions during our excursion down into the Waitomo glowworm caves :)

The experience was exceptional; the crew professional and informative.

We did end up seeing pygmy blue whales and a bryde’s whale, along with several dolphins, and even penguins! The crew was extremely well-informed and informative. They took two samples of phytoplankton and zooplankton, and explained their environmental importance. It was an altogether engaging and memorable experience.

Kept us well informed, marine biology education was exceptional.

Good confirmation day before of booking, good explanations from staff, boat safety and marine biology taught well. Appreciated a complimentary ticket due to only seeing a few dolphins, that was a pleasant surprise.

Professional, enthusiastic and interesting.

Loved the singing and playing and the chants and movements were spellbinding. We were given a great welcome and the performers clearly loved what they were doing. Highly recommended.
