Connect with wildlife and visit over 1,500 animals at Zoo Atlanta. Discover why, with an emphasis on global conservation, Zoo Atlanta is viewed as one of the best zoological operations in the United States. When you arrive at the zoo, enter through the Advance Ticket entry line. Pay a visit to the giant panda habitat to visit the twins, Ya Lun and Xi Lun. Then, head to one of Zoo Atlanta's largest expansions to date, the African Savanna, which expands the habitat for some of the largest animals. The new elephant habitat is a dynamic living space designed with elephant well-being in mind. Plains zebra, giraffes, and ostriches live together in a mixed-species setting. Adjacent to this space, see an upgraded habitat for warthogs and meerkats. Also enjoy Scaly Slimy Spectacular: The Amphibian & Reptile Experience. Explore a state-of-the-art new amphibian and reptile complex featuring more than 70 species and 100 individual animals. See amphibians and reptiles in more than 65 animal habitats, including a windswept desert, Australian billabong, mangrove swamp, Georgia tidal creek, and more. Throughout the day, feel free to join a range of educational conversations with animal experts. Many of these include an opportunity to watch the animals during their feeding times. During the Wildlife Presentations, watch animals in action as they show off their natural behaviors and amazing adaptations in dynamic wildlife presentations. See mammals, birds, reptiles, and other animals. Additional VIP Wild Encounters are available for purchase. If you're traveling with children, make sure to visit the KIDZone and Naked Mole Rat Playgrounds, with plenty of opportunities to play, climb, explore, or burn off energy! In the summer, cool down at the Splash Fountain. The Petting Zoo, or also Treetop Trail for an additional fee, are both great options for more fun.

Lovely zoo, not far from Dr. Martin Luther Jr. Center. We did both easily in one day. The zoo was a great COVID safe activity!! Easy to social distance, and we enjoyed the animals and fresh air with masks!! The elephant and the pandas were a highlight. I went with my 18 year old, and she had a great time!! Many families with strollers and couples too, but plenty of room to social distance. Zoo Atlanta is in Grant Park and an easy drive from anywhere in Atlanta. I recommend it!!

We really enjoyed our visit to the zoo! We spent 3 hours walking around and admiring the animals. Some have new habitats and we saw animals we had never seen before! It was nice to go at this time of year because it seemed like the animals were pretty active since it’s not so hot outside. The facilities are all clean and organized for covid measures. Overall a great day!

There were closed exhibits, which is why I suggest on the zoo's website more information to be able to witness certain activities of contact of the records with the children, apart from the information about the characteristics of the records was only in English. But in general lines very beautiful.
