Great day tour out of Athens. Mycenae and Epidaurus are beautiful archeological sites, but Nafplio is surely the star attraction. Bill was punctual, very friendly and very agreeable to do a guided walk of Nafplio when we were there. The old town is a great contrast to busy Athens. The small size of the group also meant that it felt almost like a personal tour. It would have been better if Bill could show us around inside Mycenae and Epidaurus, but we still had an excellent trip.

Well what a wonderful adventure the days excursion became. The pickup from the metro was so, so easy; and saved hours in Athens traffic. I was the only adventurer, and Alex the driver, and Garyfallo the archeologist guid were mine for the day, and what an adventure it was. Felt as if I’d known them all my life. Philosophical discussions on the development of religion, insights into Hellenic society, and staggeringly beautiful scenery, sites and tales of ancientGreece, and contemporary Afplio, the day flew. A stop at the Corinth canal and coffee, then into Mycaeni, which I had to stand in awe of in its monolithic structure, size and complexity. Afplio for lunch at a local inn, what a warm welcome, and finally a visit to Epidaurus. The beautiful threatens (Seats 14,000) was an obvious draw, but so to was the stadium, temples and the huge complex established as a hospital by the founder of modern medicine, Epidaurus himself. The day was perfect.

I was very happy with the tour. Our guides were some of the nicest people I have met in all of Greece, and knowledgeable, too. The tour was well organized and structured; we had enough time at the sights and got enough information about the things we saw. The journey was comfortable in our minivan and the beautiful places we visited made for a very interesting day!
