A very nice day with Michael as a driver and tour guide. We learned so much about the area on the drive down and he was able to “herd” our group easily and with good humor. Micheal also entertained us with explanations of the rock paintings. The lunch was exactly what we needed to hydrate us on this hot day with cold salads, fruit, cold cuts, warm chicken, bread, desert and an assortment of drinks. Beer and wine were also available as an extra purchase. The yellow river tour was really informative with so many birds and crocodiles. It is a long day but that’s because it’s so far from Darwin. I felt it was a good pace and thoroughly enjoyed the day!

Such a fantastic experience! Mariette was very friendly and knowledgeable, and gave great commentary both on the drive, and at the places we stopped at. She also kept us well supplies with snacks and a very nice lunch. The tour on the river was taken by a lovely young man Tyrone, who also invited us onto his land and gave us a demonstration of spear throwing. He explained the local flora and the way it is used traditionally, as well as the impact of the weather patterns on the lifestyles of the local community. And the crocodiles!! So many and so close-I can see why we were told not to stick our arms out the boat! A brilliant day!!

The Billabong River Boat was awesome. The boat guide, Dennis, great. We have seen several crocodiles, on the shore, in the river swimming and even a group of 3 that were fighting and 2 of them have retreated into the water, I understand that they have surrendered. Dennis has taken the boat to all the interesting and beautiful places and we have seen everything great. In the river there are many water lilies and lotuses, also a lot of different birds. A marvel. The bad thing is the bus hours with a monotonous landscape that becomes tiresome.

Went as told good stop at Adelaide river, swim at Edith falls and great lunch and cruise of gorge, nice stop road house and pub on way home.

Such a great trip. Knowledgeable guides, beautiful scenery, great snacks. Long drive but worth the wait.
