An Design 4 Reviews

Established in 2017 An Design has guided over 1,000 guests on small group and private tours. Personally leading all the tours myself, I have amassed a 98% 5-star rating (750+ reviews) on a variety of travel websites. An Design connects our guests to the true nature of Kyoto. Living here for over 9 years, I have come to fully understand that by limiting one's time here to only the most well known sites, one can hardly experience the beauty, serenity and deep spiritual nature of this town. Unless your idea of an enjoyable time is fighting through dense crowds, endless souvenir shops and noisy surroundings, I'd really recommend steering clear of most of the must-see's all together. By visiting lesser known sites that are far off the usual tourist route, we can come to know the exquisite and mystical nature of Kyoto. The experience provided is less of a tour and more of a meaningful day considering design, philosophy and history while visiting stunning locations of harmony and beauty. Drawing from my 12 years of experience as a landscape designer in the U.S, the 5 years I have worked in traditional garden companies in Kyoto, and my self-studies in Eastern philosophy that I have embarked on since my teenage years, I am able to provide an experience for my guests that is unlike any other that exists in Kyoto. Available for half-day, full-day, and multi-day tours, I hope I can lead you on an enchanting and introspective outing while helping you to better understand this enigmatic country of Japan.
