Full description
Walk through the old Jewish neighborhood of Amsterdam where magnificent synagogues, striking buildings and impressive memorials dominate the streetscape. At its heart, occupying less than half a square mile, is the Jewish Cultural Quarter with its landmark buildings. Here, you can travel back in time to the days of Amsterdam’s Golden Age by visiting the Portuguese Synagogue or find out all about Jewish culture and history in the Jewish Historical Museum, the Children’s Museum, the National Holocaust Memorial and the National Holocaust Museum.

Gassan Diamonds, a family-owned company, is located in a formerly steam-driven diamond factory in the center of Amsterdam. Every year more than 400,000 tourists visit the historical diamond factory. During a guided tour, multilingual staff will explain the various stages of diamond polishing. Observe skilled craftsmen at work as they transform the most precious crystal known to man into dazzling ready-to-wear brilliants. After the tour, browse through the extensive jewelry and watch collection in the boutique.

By presenting your Jewish Cultural Quarter combi ticket, you will be served a glass of Champagne during the tour and afterwards, receive a brilliant gift.

The overall experience was excellent. The visit to the Jewish quarter was very humbling. Disappointed to have missed one of the museums was closed for refurbishment. The Gassan diamond experience was very interesting, the tour guide very knowledgeable. They shouldn’t bother about the free gift though, a polishing cloth and a cup warmer was a bit of a let down when they advertise a sparkling gift but it’s free.

The experience was bad. First, the attraction appears under the name "excursion", which presupposes the existence of a guide. The confirmation I received stated that I should be at 10:00 at the meeting point. We arrived at the place at 9: 50h. Around 10:10 am, we contacted Get Your Guide and were told that the guide was late and would arrive by 11:00 am. After two more contacts with Get Your Guide and without a solution, around 11:15 am, we decided to enter the Jewish Museum and ask the Museum attendant for information. At that same moment, someone from Get Your Guide contacted the Museum and we were informed by the Museum attendant that the activity did not give the guide the right and that we should visit the places on our own. Did not Get Your Guide's attendants know that there was no guide? Why was this not reported to us? Why was the meeting point the address of the Museum, which only opened at 11 am, with the activity starting at 10 am?
