Full description
Experience Amsterdam like a local with a grassroots bike tour company, and cycle the streets of the city like a local.

Meet your guide to collect your bikes, and head off to find some of the city’s hidden gems. Start with the popular Jordaan area, riding the safe backstreets to cross over canals. Your guide will take you to courtyards and churches often missed by tourists, telling you the origin and history of each site along the way.

End your tour of the Jordaan area at Anne Frank’s House, and learn about one of Amsterdam’s most famous and heroic former residents. After a relaxing break in a charming café, cycle to the Vondelpark for a ride in Amsterdam’s favorite urban oasis.

Next, go to Museum Square (Museumplein) to learn about the city’s most popular cultural attractions, such as the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, and Concertgebouw.

We had eight in our group plus our guide. We had all different levels of riders and the stronger riders helped the weaker ones without being asked. Riding a bike in Amsterdam is a challenge and you must be aware of your surroundings. Once you start a movement you must keep going... the Amsterdam drivers and bike riders are very skillful and will work around you (avoid hitting you) as long as you keep moving in the direction you are going. Our group was made up of (2) people from South Africa, (2) from the US and (4) from the Netherlands. Our guide gave the tour in English. We took several breaks so you are not riding for 3 hours straight. We all bonded and had a lot of laughs and a great time! This is a tour which should not be attempted if it is raining... it would take all the fun out of it! Highly recommend!

I would say def do a bike tour you get to enjoy the sights a lot more and see parts you would not by public trans or boat. And a very enjoyable and fun experience with also lovely tour guide who will tell you the history of Amsterdam from the beginning.

The tour was great! Our tourguide Leon made it fun and gave great insights into Amsterdam‘s history. We saw a lot of interesting places and details we wouldn‘t have been aware of without this tour. Don‘t be afraid if you‘re not the best cyclist because the tour is very relaxed (and I can tell since it was 35*C on that day). Highly recommended!
