What people are saying about Alpujarra
Beautiful quaint villages, stunning views, rich history, jamón, jamón y más jamón. There's just enough free time in each village for you to explore on your own-- try the spring water from the town fountains & imagine what life was like in these remote mountains hundreds of years ago. An amazing day!
This tour exceeded expectations as far as timing, interest and choice of locations. The group, consisting of we two Americans, two Spaniards, Australian and British guests and two Japanese, seemed to come together as friends as the day progressed. The guide Reyna covered cultural, geographic and culinary topics equally well. We saw six of the Alpujarras villages with three major stops and several ‘pull outs’, and had a chance to unwind on the way home. We recommend this experience to other travelers with limited time in Granada.
This is a long trip along a very scenic route which included many stops to see interesting local features, such as the historical development of bridges over a narrow gorge, drying of ham under mountain top conditions and a chance to sample them, famous high- iron spring waters in a beautiful site but a not so good taste! While the tour was multilingual this was not an issue - indeed the guide was entertaining and informative. The event concluded with an excellent meal included in the price and consisting of typical local produce. Pick-up and drop-off went smoothly although we returned later than planned.
This was a very good trip which began on time. Angela was an excellent guide but I would have like that she gave the information in English first sometimes not always in Spanish first. The stops were well planned and provided a good overall sense of the region.
La Alpujarra was small but quiet and beautiful village. There were no famous historical places but i really enjoyed this day trip cuz I was getting tired of visiting so many museums and galleries, so I could be in a peace. Tour guide was good and qualified, kind... the one thing that I want to mention is... I joined English guided tour but when I arrived at the meeting point, realised that there are only 3 people who can use English in a tour group... so tour guide had to explain about all the things by both English and Spanish.
