What people are saying about Alcázar of Seville

Thorough and very enjoyable -- despite enormous holiday crowds!

Rosio was charming, incredibly knowledgeable and delivered an excellent presentation covering centuries of political, economic, religious, and cultural history - as well as palace intrigue...;-) Highly recommend.

Really interesting & just the right length.

We really enjoyed the tour. The facts about the cathedral & palace were very interesting. We would highly recommend.

Learned so much, better than exploring solo

Going with a tour guide was a great ide. we learned so much that we would have overlooked if we went alone. Worth it alone to skip the line

Excellent way to get into this other time and place.

The Royal AlcAzar has a complex history, great beauty, many hidden symbols and artistic subtleties and, not to be forgotten, phenomenal and extensive Gardens. If you have a lifetime to study it fine. But if you have half a day or maybe a little longer going with a guide to get you started as a very good way. This guided tour really gave an excellent introduction to the history and the refined points of the Alcazar. I highly recommend it. The other point is that booking with the tour saves you a very long long line waiting for your ticket. Your time on a trip is worth so much. Why spend it standing on line in the heat? Or you could do what my friend did. He got online at 7:30. He was number one. But the gates don't open until 9:30. Your choice. Regardless of how you go, don't miss this wonderful site and experience.

Seville Royal Alcazar: Fast Track Guided Tour Reviewed by a GetYourGuide customer, 10/14/2018

Miguel was a fabulous guide: extremely knowledgeable & perfect English

I loved learning not only about the architecture of what I was seeing in each room, but also about the history of Sevilla, the role and influence of the Moors, the different powers that rose and fell over the centuries, the wars, the explorations into the world beyond: all of it so complex, so full of intrigue, so many wars, so many ruling powers! But Miguel helped me to get a real grasp of the whole picture, as never before. The best guide I've had anywhere! If it's possible to pass along this review to Miguel, I would appreciate it. Before the tour ended I wanted to tell him about a film that he (who studied history at university) would find compelling: "The Doctrine of Discoverey: Unmasking the Domination Code." The director, Sheldon Peters Wolfchild, is Native American. The film is about the Papal Bull (Pope Alexander VI, 1493) that gave Spain exclusive rights to all lands discovered by Spain. The consequences of this were profound and the film is both disturbing and important.
