Planning Your Agra Visit

How many days to spend in Agra?

Although many visitors arrive from Delhi on a day-trip, Agra offers two to three days worth of sightseeing. A stay here also makes it easier to reach the imperial complex of Fatehpur Sikri, which is 22 miles from Agra.

Getting around

Apart from taxis and buses, tuk-tuks and autorickshaws are the norm, and its best to choose one that appears to be in relatively suitable condition. Bicycle rickshaws are another option, as they can make it convenient for the area around the Taj Mahal, which is free from cars and taxis.

Where to stay in Agra

The areas of Tajganj and Basai make it easy to see the main sights of the city. Buses on Fatehabad and Taj Roads connect the district to the city center.

What people are saying about Agra

Most convenient way to see Agra from Delhi!

As the title says, it really is the most convenient way! Driver arrived on time to our hotel, took us to Delhi train station and waited with us at the platform until our train came, meals and water were provided on the train. Picked up at Agra station from the train by our private tour guide and driver and taken to the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and the Baby Taj, followed by a lunch (included in the price) and souvenir stop. Our tour guide brought every place we visited alive with a wealth of knowledge on every location and went above and beyond in capturing amazing photos of the whole experience for us. We were then taken back to Agra train station where the driver again waited at the platform for us to board our train and the same driver that took us to the train station in Delhi in the morning picked us up at the platform again. Over all this was an amazing, completely stress free experience that i couldn't recommend enough!

Excellent experience and great information!

Aman was a wonderful guide! He gave us a lot of history about the Taj Mahal and guides us through the best way to experience the Taj Mahal. Next he asked us our preference on visiting baby Taj or Fort Agra. We chose the baby Taj and were not disappointed! It's beautiful as well. And Aman took fantastic photos of us in the best spots. After visiting, we saw how the the semiprecious gemstones were inlayed in the white marble. The entire day was a great learning opportunity and a splendid day of seeing a wonder of the world.

5th time at the Taj Mahal - Still as impressed as ever!

I visit India very often, if I am travelling with friend, I always make we make a whistle stop to the Taj and Agra Fort. Landing in Delhi at midnight, we were promptly pick up at 3am. Arriving into Agra bu 6h30. We were guided around the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort - with an interesting young guide. We saw everything we need to, without being forced to visit shops or factories. We left and were back around the pool in Delhi by 15h30. There is no need to spend any more time in Agra. It was the perfect trip!

A bit expensive but highly recommended!!

I had the opportunity to take this day trip with Saeed from Keeper Landwey and it was a real pleasure. His endless knowledge is just incredible. He was also very kind and patient regarding my requests (lunch, historical questions, architectural questions, etc..). Do yourself a favour and book a trip with Saeed.

Friendly, knowledgeable & well presented guide

Driver & guide arrived promptly to hotel. Guide had excellent knowledge of both the Taj Mahal and Agra fort. Although the tour did not include drop off service after the tour, they offered to take me to the train station so I could catch my train back to Delhi. I was very grateful to them for this.
