What people are saying about Yogyakarta

This activity was excellent!! Ivan was my driver, and he is such a nice person who was very knowledgeable about the region and was just great to talk with. He was able to help set me up with tour guides at Borobudur and Prambanan as well as a driver who spoke English for the Jeep excursion. After we finished at Prambanan, he offered to take me to Kota Gede, the area where silver is made, since it was on the way back to my hotel. He was very accommodating and I would highly recommend anyone request him if you are doing this activity. The only issue I had was that although I was told I would receive an email or call the day before the activity, I received neither. Thankfully Ivan was there on time, but I would have appreciated receiving some type of confirmation from the company as had been stated on the initial booking email I received.

I had an excellent tour! Everything was very well organized by the tour company and the very reliable and knowledgeable driver and guide. All the sites we visited were fabulous, starting from the Buddhist and Hindu temples around Yogjakarta to the impressive volcanoes in East Java. Yogjakarta has a lot to offer and I feel I could have spent a day or two more there. Consider arriving a few days before starting the tour to explore the city. The way from Yogjakarta to the volcanoes is quite long, but it gives you a chance to sit back in the car, observe local life and learn about the country and its culture from the local guide.

Borobudur, Mount Bromo, and Ijen: 4-Day Tour from Yogyakarta Reviewed by Nadine Andrea, 03/06/2020

Beautiful area about a scenic 2 hours drive from Yogyakarta. Locals are friendly and have installed paths and viewing platforms for visitors from the entry funds. Consider giving an extra donation for them to continue the great work. The temple itself is small but this tour is about the amazing views along the 30 minute hike up to the temple from the village. The walk is steep and slippery in some parts so have good hiking shoes. My guide was very knowledgeable and had good relationships with the locals villagers.

Great Guide ! Wedi was a true professional ! Very articulate and clear in his explanations of history Of the area, he was helpful in all ways ! Consequently The tour was made complete , the sunrise was incredible , the timing was perfect , there was only 18 other people so it was majestic !

we tought it would be an open air event with a view on prambanan, unfortunately was indoor and was very warm inside. the performance was nice but fairly long. the way that the event is marketed was a bit too fancy, it actually was very casual. so be prepared
